RMS Titanic

Lambert Brothers Haulage newsCompany News - Wednesday 1st Feb 2012
We recently helped the Quilley School of Engineering out on an exciting and innovative project where a member of staff and some pupils are undertaking to replicate a section of the stem (bow) of the ship using traditional skills and techniques from the early 1900’s.

Construction will commence in mid-February and the first steps are now complete ensuring the project will become a reality. On Wednesday 1st February a 4.5metre square, 2.5 tonne bending slab was delivered to the school – on loan from ExxonMobil Chemical Ltd at the Fawley Refinery. The slab was delivered to the school courtesy of Lambert Brothers Haulage Eastleigh.

Trial of longer semi-trailers

Company News - Wednesday 18th Jan 2012
We are pleased to announced that we have successfully applied to operate a number of 15.65m long double deck trailers. These will be operated under a trial organised by the Department of Transport. We intend to use this equipment on overnight trunking, which is mainly motorway running. Although the payload is reduced slightly the capacity of the trailer will be increased by 8 standard pallet spaces. Our overnight services are not weight critical so the extra pallet spaces will be very beneficial.

Lambert Brothers Haulage newsCompany News - Monday 19th Dec 2011
David Haines - Retirement

You may be aware that Dave Haines retires at the end of the year. David joined Lambert Brothers in 1982 and since 1994 has been Operations Director. He has been a valuable asset and friend and colleague to all of us and will be greatly missed.
Under David's guidance for almost 30 years the company has made considerable progress. David's hard work and experience has greatly contributed to the successful company we have today. I am particularly grateful to David for the support he gave me when my brother retired in 1998. His attention to details and relationship with our customers has been very valuable over the years. His leadership and loyalty to our company will be sorely missed.
We thank David for his many years of service and hard work and wish him well in his retirement.

Driver CPC Training - Approved Centre

Lambert Brothers Haulage newsCompany News - Thursday 1st Dec 2011
We are pleased to announce that we are now an Approved Centre for Driver CPC training.

Mike Bonner, our Training Manager, has recently obtained the necessary qualifications to carry out periodic training to enable our drivers to obtain the Driver CPC. All HGV drivers have to obtain the Driver CPC by September 2014. The training comprises of 5 days attendance which can be quite disruptive to normal work schedules. Using our own trainer enables us to have more flexibility as to when the training sessions take place. Recently we have had our 'day in the cab training' approved by JAUPT to count as a CPC day.

In addition to training our own drivers we can also offer this to our customers. So if you do employ drivers and require a friendly local company to carry out this training please let us know.

Vehicle Tracking

Company News - Tuesday 31st May 2011
We are so pleased by the results of the six months trial we had with our local vehicles that we are now fitting trackers to the entire fleet. We use Trackitnow software and find it very user friendly. The system gives us real time information on vehicle location, as well a host of other information on mpg, idling time etc. Already our traffic office are finding that they can operate the fleet more efficiently and they particularly like using the geofence facility. All this will result in providing a better service to our customers and has reduced our mileage and fuel costs.

Company News - Monday 14th Mar 2011
From 3rd January 2012 vehicles registered before October 2006 face punitive fines if they enter the LEZ, (which is roughly within the M25). Does this affect you? If so maybe we could help by providing a LEZ compliant vehicle on contract together with a fully trained driver.
