Lambert Brothers Haulage Ltd Steal the Show at Biggest ‘Get Inspired’ Event
Inspiring youngsters to enter the logistics industry is vitally important to the sector; the aging demographic means securing a new generation of talent is key.
Lambert Brothers stole the show at the careers event ‘Get Inspired’, held at the O2 Guildhall Southampton on Wednesday 7th November 2018.
The interactive event was a platform to introduce Lambert Brothers and promote the variety of careers the logistics industry presents.
Held annually, the event is organised by EBP South, and was this year sponsored by Ford, Southampton City Council, Go! Southampton and SUN Partnership. Over 1400 young people aged 13 – 18 were in attendance to explore different potential career pathways.
Lambert Brothers joined other businesses, universities, colleges and apprenticeship providers to exhibit with a hands-on activity; presenting the actual Hazard Perception test from the DVLA. The purpose of the activity was to give young people an insight to hazards on UK roads.
Rebecca Handley, Operations Director at Go! Southampton said, ‘Get Inspired Southampton is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the wealth of opportunity in Southampton and to inspire the future generation.’
Get Inspired is an important event that gives young people to opportunity to learn about potential jobs that they can aspire to and gives organisations an opportunity to be proactive in developing their recruitment pipeline.
Suzanne Lewis, EBP South Project Manager said, ‘EBP South Get Inspired events provide young people with the opportunity to learn about careers directly from employers at a crucial time in their life when they are making important choices about their next step.’
Working with EBP South gives Lambert Brothers a single point of contact to work with schools and implement talent acquisition strategies from an early age.
The event also takes place across Hampshire including, Portsmouth, New Forest and Basingstoke. They are free for both businesses to exhibit and young people to attend.
