Lambert Brothers Support Solent Jobs Programme

Solent Jobs Programme is a cause close to Lambert Brothers heart; helping those impacted by various health conditions gain confidence and return to the workplace. Run by the Southampton City Council in conjunction with other organisations including the Wheatsheaf Trust, the programme’s aim is to support local people back into work on temporary paid work placements in locally based businesses.

Lambert Brothers we’re recently in the position to offer placements. Josh joined the Customer Service Team and Quirenna assisted the HR Department. They both did a fantastic job helping with administration, including creating marketing materials for a local event where we introduced young people to the Logistics industry. Josh and Quirenna brightened up the office with their energy, passion and enthusiasm. It was a privilege to watch them grow in confidence, take on more responsibility and work alongside all members of the Lambert Brothers team. We wish them all the best in their future careers.

I am very grateful to the team at Lambert Brothers for the two-month placement I was given. Not only did I learn valuable skills that will help me in my future, but I also got a big boost to my confidence.

The whole team were very accommodating, understanding and patient, easing me into a role where I made some great memories I won’t soon forget.

Thank you again to everyone at the office.

I was given the opportunity to work at Lambert brothers for a period of 2 months from the Solent Jobs Programme and have enjoyed my time immensely. Learning about different aspects of the company and how it all comes together to form the day-to-day operations is very interesting to me. The working environment allows me to function at my best and to get on well with the tasks at hand. This placement has given me the opportunity to reflect upon myself and my abilities, as well to gain new skills and new-found confidence.

On the 28 December 2018, we attended a celebration presentation at the Mayor’s Parlour in Southampton where participants shared their stories as the programme ended. The Mayor gave a speech to thank everyone that participated. We would like to thank Mayor. Councillor Stephen Barnes-Andrews and the Mayoress for the opportunity to join this programme, for the friendly welcome and photo opportunity.
